In general terms, arm liposuction is a plastic surgery that is performed to remove extra fat from the upper arm. It can again be performed due to two reasons, viz., medical or cosmetic reasons. Who wants to have bulging arms when they have the option to get rid of those? Also, there is a medical condition called lymphedema, where lymph (a fluid) gets accumulated in the arms which makes them swell. This eventually may lead to fat accumulation. Both the issues are sorted through arm liposuction.
Types of Arm Liposuction
There are several types of liposuction procedures based on the medium used.
1. Suction-assisted liposuction- the traditional method that uses a syringe for suction.
2. Power-assisted liposuction- the method that uses power to move the cannula.
3. Vibro-assisted liposuction- the method that uses air pressure to do the job.
4. Ultrasound-assisted liposuction- the method that uses ultrasound energy for the surgery.
5. Vaser-assisted liposuction- this method also uses ultrasound energy but less energy and more solid probes.
6. Laser-assisted liposuction- the method that uses the laser for performing the surgery.
Procedure:
1. After a proper health checkup, anesthesia is provided to the patient.
2. The arm is raised at 90 degrees with bending at the elbow and marking for the incisions is done.
3. Small cuts (incisions) are made on the markings and a small cannula is inserted at one of those incisions.
4. Fat is suctioned out and a cannula is removed after which compression wraps are provided to help the patient in bleeding and swelling.
Benefits:
1. Arms will get slimmer and more toned in proportion to the whole body.
2. It provides long-lasting results and also boosts the physical, emotional, and mental health of the patient.
3. The patient can wear anything desirable with more confidence.
4. It helps in promoting better lifestyle habits.
