Asymmetric Gynecomastia is the second type of Gynecomastia. Like bilateral Gynecomastia, this condition is also very common in teenagers due to the uniform boost of testosterone. This uneven testosterone boost causes an imbalance between the testosterone level (the hormone responsible for suppressing the effects of estrogen) and the level of estrogen (the hormone responsible for the enlargement of breasts).
The main cause is genetics, which means that if any member of your family, like your father or grandfather, had this same issue, and then it's very much possible that you will suffer from the same situation. Asymmetric Gynecomastia is quite similar to bilateral Gynecomastia, but the point that separates it is the sheer seriousness. Bilateral Gynecomastia is a case where one breast is enlarged. At the same time, the other is normal, but in this type of Gynecomastia, the enlargement of breast tissues is seen in both the breasts. Due to this, one might have two enlarged breasts at the same time.
