Nipple inversion is a common condition that affects around 2% to 10% of women all around the world. Congenital inversions at times are one of the most common causes which make the inversion comparatively less frequent. Inverted nipples at a point are inward or flat rather than pointy. These types are called inverted nipples. There are different grades of nipple inversion which are grade 1, grade 2, and grade 3. In grade 1 the nipples are easily pulled outward in grade 2 the nipples can be put outward however they can go back to their original form and in grade 3 the condition is severe and you might not be able to breastfeed. Different causes of inverted nipples are ageing when you begin to get into your 30s and this condition gets changing with age.

Procedure:

1. It is performed under local anaesthetics unless the doctor deems so or requested otherwise.

2. Surgery involves making an incision around the nipple.

3. The ducts are separated or divided, and the nipple is allowed to sit naturally.

4. Soluble stitches are made at the base of the corrected nipple position and allowed to heal.

5. The incised area is dressed and after the entire procedure is completed, the doctor may put on some bandages to allow minimal movement of the nipple.
