Arm Reduction

Arm reduction, also known as Arm Lift, is a type of cosmetic surgery aiming to reduce the excess skin or fat from the lower regions of the arm, mainly from the triceps region. Medically known as Brachioplasty, it can be performed on anyone regardless of age. Patients with too much excess skin and an amount of fat that cannot be burned through exercise and diet can opt for Brachioplasty. The loose, sagging skin underneath the arms can result from several reasons.

The most common ones are aging and excess skin from excessive fat loss. Sometimes, a person may be in the best condition (medically) and still develop saggy skin over the triceps muscles. The reason for this is generally genetics. It is more likely to happen in boys than girls because the boy will inherit non-sexual autonomic genes (genes other than X and Y) from their mothers. Girls and women have a chance of developing underarm skins due to hormonal changes and some complex problems. In boys, this generally starts developing in late puberty; by the time he is an adult, it is gone naturally. Although most cases cure naturally, some extreme cases require surgical attention.

Procedure

➤ Most of these surgeries are done under local anesthesia. Before surgery, anesthesia is administered in the body.

➤ The doctor marks around the area of the surgery, making a border.

➤ Small incisions are made, and extra skin tissues are removed by excision.

➤ Extra stubborn fat is removed with the help of the cannula through the incisions.

➤ The wound is dressed, and beta dine is given to heal the wounds.
